A fresh Winters morning.....

windvalefarm

We have been lucky this year with quite a mild winter so far....we haven't had too many crisp frosts and there has been enough warmth in the days for a small amount of grass growth. Grass stops growing at around 10' Celsius (50' Fahrenheit) Which is why in addition to grass paddocks, we feed out baleage/ winter crops (mix of swede and kale) and we also give hay to the cows.

Lou likes to keep his paddock well trimmed and has ample hay stations to keep him happy, he has a morning and afternoon warm mash with all his minerals to keep him healthy and grow fabulous hooves. The Wagyu Bulls in the background have good cover in their paddock and they get topped up with baleage and hay daily to keep good body condition.
